Giving History

Raven gives priority to new initiatives which do not have a strong funding constituency and where a grant from the Foundation can have a significant impact.  Approximately 81% of Raven’s grantmaking between 2010 and 2014 went to funding these new projects.

Major initiatives and support since its founding have included programs at Oxbow Center for Sustainable Agriculture and the Environment, ArtsFund, Classical King FM, Intiman Theater, Town Hall, University of Idaho, Burke Museum, Center for Wooden Boats, KCTS Television, Pacific Science Center, Stand for Children, Stewardship Partners, Alpha Supported Living Services, Washington Women’s Foundation, Discovery Institute and Crosscut, and University of Washington’s Computer Science and Engineering Program.

Raven also makes smaller annual gifts in the range of $1,000-$5,000 to a broad range of local non-profit organizations in arts and culture, education, environment, health and human services and public policy.
